"Bowmore Distillery, established in 1779, is the original malt distillery from the Island of Islay and one of the oldest in Scotland. Over its many years of distillation, Bowmore has produced some outstanding, iconic Limited Edition bottling.
This Limited Edition release was distilled on the 5th of November 1964.
The spirit was filled into six Bourbon Casks then laid down to mature in the distillery's famous vaults.
After more than forty three years, the Bourbon Oak Wood has infused the Bowmore spirit with light luscious vanilla tones.
This is the second in the Limited Edition Trilogy of outstanding Bowmore Single Malt Whisky. The Bourbon Casks have given a very subtle golden hue to the spirit with delicate fruity notes on the palate. Only 732 bottles were obtained from the casks, but the result is outstanding. The colour is golden syrup, with amazing aromas of gallia melon, mango and papaya. On the palate, there are hints of mixed exotic fruits, vanilla and maple syrup with just a trace of Bowmore peat smoke.
The finish is surprisingly clean and incredible long.
It is very rare to find a Single Malt Scotch Whisky of the quality and calibre."
