The Macallan Rare Cask Black is quite unlike any other Macallan. The latest addition to the 1824 Masters Series, this is a Macallan with a surprising but subtle smoky character. This distinctive flavour delivers the full-bodied richness of the spirit from the sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks with the added intensity provided by a timeless thread of peat smoke.
Less than 100 casks maturing at The Macallan distillery have contributed to the creation of this exceptional whisky. A spirit to savour, The Macallan Rare Cask Black combines dried fruits, nutmeg, ginger and beautifully polished oak plus hints of dates, figs and raisins. It is heavy but sweet. A dry smokiness yields to softer oak tones and the finish is long and fruity with an elegant wood smoke.
