"This limited edition 2015 release is initially matured in American white oak. It is then transferred into first-fill Matusalem oloroso sherry butts which were hand-selected from the famous Gonzalez Byass bodega in Jerez de la Frontera. A decade of maturation in sherry butts creates an exceptional finish full of character.
The Dalmore’s story begins in 1263 with an act of bravery.
Colin of Kintail, Chief of the Clan Mackenzie was leading King Alexander III of Scotland on a hunt, when suddenly, emerging from the Highland mist, a wild stag charged straight for the King. Fearlessly the Chieftain speared the stag to the ground, saving his King’s life.
This act of decisiveness and courage changed the fortunes of Colin of Kintail, and his Clan, forever. He was rewarded by the grateful King Alexander III with the lands of Eilean Donan, the motto “Luceo Non Uro’ – meaning ’I shine, not burn” – and the right to bear the 12-pointed Royal Stag as their Clan crest."
