"Macallan 31 Years Old 1938 1969 - Fine & Rare 45.4%
Re-bottled in 2002
Only 198 bottles have been made worldwide!

The year that was:
The Macallan continued production against the growing shadow of war in Europe. Inventor Roy J Plunkett discovered the substance now known as Teflon, and the first ‘Xerox’ image was made in New York. Howard Hughes sets a new record – flying around the world in 91 hours, while another flier, Douglas ‘Wrong Way’ Corrigan, took off from New York for California, but landed in Ireland instead.

The natural oak wood colour of this whisky, inviting in character, indicates maturation in a second fill sherry cask. The nose is of balanced apple and orange fruits, wood, peat and dried fruits. The finish is full of fruits and wood, with lingering peat smoke and a little dryness. This 1938 distillation was originally bottled in 1969, as a 31 year old. It was then carefully re-bottled by hand in 2002 to grace this collection of Fine & Rare Macallan."
