This Bordeaux Blanc is a blend of sauvignon blanc (80%) and sémillon (20%). The winemaking process is very precise and done with great care. The grape varieties are vinified together, resulting in a complex and balanced wine. After the cold skin maceration, fermentation is started with constant temperature control to prevent the process from proceeding too quickly. About 20% of the young wine matures for a number of months in used French oak barrels.

The wine has a subtle touch of wood, which provides a beautiful balance between freshness and richness. Aromas of cantaloupe melon, nectarines and citrus fruit alternate. The aftertaste is soft and long.

Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) is a group of wine estates, based on the world-famous Château Lafite Rothschild, which was considered the best vineyard in Bordeaux even in the 18th century.

Over the years, more wine estates were added, first in Bordeaux itself and then in Chile (Viña Los Vascos) and in the Corbières (Domaine d'Aussières). All these wine estates are managed with the same care and dedication and the elegant, refined style of the wines always comes first.

In 1984, DBR Lafite purchased the famous Château Rieussec, whose wine is consistently ranked among the top 3 of Sauternes. The purchase also included a vineyard with associated château in the Entre-deux-Mers: Château Paradis Casseuil. Baron Eric, who headed DBR Lafite at the time, immediately saw the potential of the vineyard and not only decided to restore it and partly replant it, but later expanded it further to a total of 60 hectares.

The château owes its name to the village of Casseuil and to the traditionally most important plot of vines there, which is known in the cadastral register as “au Paradis”. Who ever gave that beautiful name to that plot (and why) will always remain shrouded in mystery, but it was right, because the wine certainly lives up to the name. The vineyards extend over three municipalities with a hilly landscape: Casseuil, Caudrot and Sainte-Foy-la-Longue.
