"Bowmore Distillery, established in 1779, is the original malt distillery from the Island of Islay and one of the oldest in Scotland. Over its many years of distillation, Bowmore has produced some outstanding, iconic Limited Edition bottling.
This particularly stunning example of Bowmore was distilled on the 5th of November 1964. The spirit was carefully filled into exceptional Oloroso Sherry Casks then laid down to mature deep in the distillery vaults below sea level. After more than four decades breathing deep through the hand selected oak casks, the Bowmore spirit has been imparted with a stunning aroma and palate.
Throughout its quiet maturation, the remarkable malt whisky has acquired its rich, deep, dark colour from the Sherry Casks giving the apt title of "Black" Bowmore. The five Oloroso Casks of this unique whisky have produced only 827 bottles, making it one of the rarest malt whiskies in the world. The result os quite simply stunning, almost ebony in colour, with incredible aromas of exotic fruits, ginger and cinnamon.
The palate is rewarded with hints of ripe mango, toffee and dark chocolate with the faintest hint of the smoky Bowmore signature. The finish is luxurious, creamy and warm.
This is the pinnacle of the Distiller's art and has taken forty two years of craft. Relax, recline and savor every drop."
