Bruichladdich is the most westerly of all the distilleries of Scotland and is one of a family of richly flavoured whiskies from the Western Isles. Bruichladdich is one of the softest and most delicate of this rare family. This unique single malt Scotch Whisky is the product of its rich water, the barley, the care of its craftsmen and the subtle influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the soft Gulf Stream and it has been produced for over one hundred years in the same unchanging, unhurried manner.
No one can fully explain what it is that makes the Scotch malt whisky distilled on the island of Islay so different, so special that experts in the Scotch whisky industry regard Islay whisky as a spirit apart, different in character and palate to the whiskies distilled on the Scottish mainland. Islay Malts are more flavoured and more heavily peated than mainland whiskies. Bruichladdich is perhaps the lightest and most delicate of the Island’s products."
